The CMAA runs several observatories
in Central Missouri. Morrison Observatory, on the campus of Central Methodist
in Fayette, is open on the third Thursday of several months, and is open for
six consecutive Thursdays twice a year. In the case of inclement weather,
the CMAA usually presents a program instead of the telescope viewing. The
telescope is a 12 inch refracting telescope that was used in the early study
of Jupiter's Great Red Spot.
Law's Observatory, on the campus
of the University of Missouri-Columbia is open every clear Wednesday night from
8-10 p.m. It has a sixteen inch reflecting telescope through which everyone
gets a chance to look at celestial objects.
Wildhaven is the CMAA's personal viewing location.
